凌霄花(拉丁學名:Campsis grandiflora)是紫葳科、凌霄屬攀援藤本植物,分布于中國中部,性喜溫暖濕潤、有陽光的環境,稍耐蔭。借氣生根攀援它物向上生長,羽狀復葉,小葉卵形,邊緣有鋸齒,花鮮紅色,花冠漏斗形,結蒴果,喜歡排水良好土壤,較耐水濕、并有一定的耐鹽堿能力。有藥用價值,有行血去瘀、涼血祛風的功效,也具觀賞價值。凌霄早在春秋時期的《詩經》里就有記載,當時人們稱之為陵苕,“苕之華,蕓其貴矣”說的就是凌霄。凌霄花之名始見于《唐本草》,該書在“紫葳”項下曰:“此即凌霄花也,及莖、葉具用。”

The name Lingxiaohua (Chinese Trumpet Creeper)first appeared in the "Purple myrtle" section ofTang Bencao: "This is Lingxiaohua, with useful stems and leaves."
