紅腹角雉（拉丁學(xué)名：Tragopan temminckii）屬于雞形目雉科。雄鳥體羽及兩翅主要為深栗紅色，滿布具黑緣的灰色眼狀斑，下體灰斑大而色淺。雌鳥上體灰褐色，下體淡黃色，雜以黑、棕、白斑。雄性較雌性更為美麗。紅腹角雉喜歡居住在有長流水的溝谷、山澗及較潮濕的懸崖下的原始森林中，在海拔1000—3500米之間均有分布。主要以喬木、灌木、竹以及草本植物和蕨類植物的嫩葉、幼芽、嫩枝、花絮、果實(shí)和種子為食。紅腹角雉是一種有很高觀賞價(jià)值和經(jīng)濟(jì)價(jià)值的鳥類。
Red-belly Tragopan (Scientific Latin Name: Tragopan temminckii) is a pheasant in the genus Tragopan. The body feathers and wings of the male are mainly dark chestnut red, with gray eye spots with black margins, and the gray spots on the lower body are large and light in color.The upper body of the female is grayish brown, the lower body is pale yellow, mixed with black, brown, and white spots. The maleis more beautiful than the female. It likes to live in gullies, mountain streams and wet cliffs in the primary forest, distributed between 1000 and 3500 meters above sea level. It mainly feeds on young leaves, buds, shoots, catkins, fruits and seeds ofarbor trees, shrubs, bamboo, herbs and ferns and is a kind of bird with high ornamental and economic value.
