楠木（拉丁學名：Phoebe zhennan S. Lee et F. N. Wei）為我國特有，是馳名中外的珍貴用材樹種。由于歷代砍伐利用，致使這一豐富的森林資源近于枯竭。目前所存林分，多系人工栽培的半自然林和風景保護林，在廟宇、村舍、公園、庭院等處尚有少量的大樹，但病蟲危害較嚴重，也相繼在衰亡。 楠木以其材質優良，用途廣泛而著稱于世，是楠木屬中經濟價值最高的一種。分布于蔭濕山谷、山洼及河旁。楠木香味可以醒脾化濕，而楠木本身亦是一味祛疾除患的良藥，可以與其他中藥配伍，或單獨作為一味獨立的藥材使用，是博大精深的中醫藥寶庫中不可或缺的重要組成部分。
