青莢葉（拉丁學名：Helwingia japonica (Thunb.) Dietr.），山茱萸科，青莢葉屬落葉灌木，高可達2米。葉紙質，卵形、卵圓形、稀橢圓形，先端漸尖，極少數先端為尾狀漸尖，葉基部闊楔形或近于圓形，邊緣具刺狀細鋸齒；初夏開花，雌雄異株，花小，黃綠色，生于葉面中央的主脈上。核果球形，黑色，故又名“葉上珠”。分布于中國河南、陜西及長江流域至華南各地。青莢葉全株入藥，其莖髓入藥稱為“小通草”，為《中華人民共和國藥典》（2010 版）收錄。有清熱、解毒、活血、消腫的療效；中國民間或用作陰癥藥。
