獨葉草（拉丁學名：Kingdonia uniflora Balf.f. et W. W. Sm）為多年生小草本，無毛，根狀莖細長，自頂端芽中生出1葉和1條花葶。芽鱗約3個，膜質，卵形，長4-7毫米。獨葉草分布于云南、四川、甘肅、陜西，生海拔2750-3900米間山地冷杉林下或杜鵑灌叢下。對研究被子植物的進化和該科的系統發育有科學意義，因該種天然更新能力差，加之森林的破壞采挖，植株數量逐漸減少，自然分布日益縮減。它具有散瘀，活血，止痛等醫用價值，故又名化血丹。
Single-Leaf Grass (Scientific Latin Name: Kingdonia uniflora Balf.f. et W. W. Sm) is a small perennial herb, glabrous, with elongated rhizomes, one leaf and one flower scape arising from the apical bud.There are about 3 ovoid bud scales with membranes, 4-7 mm long. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi and grows under Abies forest or rhododendron thickets in mountainous areas between 2750 and 3900 meters abovesea level.It is of scientific significance to study the evolution of angiosperms and the phylogeny of this family. Due to its poor natural reproduction ability, coupled with the destruction and excavation of forests, the number of plants is gradually decreased, and the natural distribution is increasingly reduced.It has the medical value of dispersing blood stasis, activating blood circulation, relieving pain, etc., so it is also known as the “Blood AdjustmentPanacea”.
